This habitat-based theme takes its influence from areas such as Russian and Poland where there is little available water in the summer and we use plants from drier regions of the world to mimic this. The growth of these plants is often very airy with low basal leaves and they often have small, sometimes silver, leaves which reduce water loss. The planting style is quite natural, echoing nature in its mingled effects. Early to mid-summer is when they look their best, peaking June to August.
