There is a timeless quality to Cambo House which allows guests to relax and savour the tranquillity of the acres of natural woodland and parkland yet be within minutes of golf courses, interesting places to visit and of course the historic university town of St Andrews.
The main house is divided into five self-catering apartments.
The East and West Wings are extremely imposing with some magnificent furniture and furnishings, providing an opportunity to experience 'country house living' with modern day comforts. Taking up most of the second floor they are extremely spacious and with the inter-communicating door unlocked together sleep 16.
By contrast, the Attic on the top floor, once home to the maids, nowadays offers comfortable accommodation on a cosier scale and sleeps 5.
The Upper and Lower Servants apartments were, as the names suggest, once the rooms of servants, the ladies in the smaller Upper Servants, and the men in the now glorious Lower Servants. Both now have two bath/shower rooms for guests to enjoy rather than share a communal sink in the corridor as the previous inhabitants (we have made a feature of the one in Lower Servants as it seemed sacrilege to remove an item of such historical interest. Each sleeps 4.
The two studio apartments in the Gardener's Wing, the Garden and the Orchard, have proved to be very popular with couples looking for a short break or visiting children at St Andrews University, as well as grandparents of families holidaying in the larger apartments who can enjoy their own space unmolested. The Garden sleeps 2 in a double bed and the Orchard sleeps 2 in 2 singles.
